It takes someone special to be able to combine the gifts of a market strategist with the laser-sharp analytic skills of a trained attorney. That’s usually the first thing that comes to mind when you meet Sam Tabar.
Sam calls New York city home and it’s from there that he oversees the Full Cycle Energy Fund, an investment venture that focuses on old and new electricity generation plants and the transition from high cost, polluting fuels to lower cost, environmentally friendly fuels produced from Municipal solid waste.
As was originally reported in PRNewswire, Sam took his law degrees from Oxford University and the Columbia School of Law and went to work at Skadden, Arps, Slater, Meagher & Flom LLP. It wasn’t long before Sam became an associate at the firm and was soon heavily involved in business development and strategy.
When the time was ripe, Sam took his special abilities to the SPARX Group, an independent Asia-based equity and credit asset management service specializing in Asian funds with offices in Tokyo and Seoul. Sam served as co-head of business development and managing director and was a driving force in the company’s growth and development.
The experience at SPARX Group gave Sam the opportunity to work for Merrill Lynch Bank of America. Here he made a name for himself as the Head of Capital Strategy with a special focus on the Asia-Pacific region.
Energetic, hard-working and always looking for a growth opportunities in his personal life as well as professionally, Mr. Tabar’s last stop before the Full Cycle Fund was a position with Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP. It was here that he made full use of his legal skills by focusing on compliance issues and hedge fund regulations and the experience provided an excellent proving ground for becoming Chief Operating Officer of the Full Cycle Energy Fund.
